Project 4
Art
For the art portion of our project, we decided to show synthesis by taking different styles and decades of rock music and bringing them together to create songs. At the end of the project, we ended up not studio recording our songs and we recorded ourselves playing them. We had a song for the 70s, two for the 80s, one for the 90s, and one for the 2000s. We had to learn a lot about rhythm and playing instruments together because it is much harder than it seems. We showed synthesis from the way we put our music together, and it also comes from how we put our instruments together to make the songs we ended up with.
History
For the history portion of the project we decided to intrigue our listeners in our songs by giving each guitar solo an emotion to capture and portray on the audience. When creating our art portion we created four songs which followed the different decades. 70’s, 80’s. 90’s and 2000’s. WE created guitar solos for each of the songs which met our different emotions which were groovy, sad, adrenaline as well as enlightening. For the research portion of our project we started off by looking into the different instruments used in songs that we considered to be sad, exciting and so on. With this research we then looked into why songs make people feel emotion. Once we had gathered all our research we went into writing our solos.
English
For the English portion of our project, we decided to show synthesis by taking our personal life experiences and combining them with rock culture to create lyrics. We created a series of deep and meaningful lyrics that fit with our songs and have backstories to them. These lyrics show synthesis through our process of writing and combining our lyrics with the songs of each decade.
